Benito is a 6-month-old, 25-pound sweetheart who is currently mastering the art of being a New Yorker with his foster family. This Puerto Rican rescue is the definition of a "happy medium" pup—he has the perfect balance of playful curiosity and cozy relaxation.

Personality & Confidence Benito is a thoughtful boy who takes a moment to observe his surroundings before jumping in. While he can be a little shy at first, his "feisty" and playful spirit shines through as he gains confidence. His foster family describes him as incredibly well-behaved and loving. He is very food-motivated, which makes him an eager student who truly enjoys the bonding time that comes with learning new skills.

Social Life Benito is a social butterfly when it comes to other animals! He has a track record of success with a variety of housemates:

• Canine Friends: He loves playing with other dogs and currently lives with two foster sisters. He finds great comfort and confidence in having a canine buddy to play with and learn from.

• Feline Friends: He is a star when it comes to cats. Rather than chasing, he prefers to watch them curiously and has even been caught cuddling with a cat by the fireplace.

• People: He is wonderful with children and has shown great respect toward senior dogs.

Skills & Routine Benito is a pro at "homelife" already! He treats his crate as his personal safe space for napping and relaxing. He is doing a fantastic job with his potty training and is currently working on perfecting his leash walking and stair-climbing skills. Whether he’s exploring the backyard (he’s a fan of the snow!) or working on a Kong in his crate, he handles his daily routine with a steady, happy wag.
