Canto is a 6 month old mix who is truly the "voice" of the Puerto Rico 4! He is an observant, determined little guy who is quickly learning how to navigate his new life in New York with plenty of personality and a very waggy tail.

Personality & Connection Canto is the most vocal of his siblings and isn't afraid to let you know when he needs a potty break, a snack, or just some extra attention. While he is very attached to his siblings and other dogs, he is currently working hard on gaining his own confidence and independence. He is a determined pup who is highly food-motivated, which makes him a great partner for positive reinforcement training.

Social Life & Snuggles If you are looking for a world-class cuddler, Canto is your boy! Although he has plenty of puppy energy, he loves nothing more than cuddling close or even trying to squeeze onto someone’s lap. Like his sister Valentina, he has a deep appreciation for the "finer things" in life—specifically comfy couches, soft pillows, and warm blankets. Once he has had his playtime and settles down for the evening, he is a champion sleeper who stays quiet all through the night.

Skills & Progress Canto is a very observant student who is making great strides in his house training. He is doing well, though his excitement sometimes gets the better of him; he occasionally has an accident right in front of the door before he can make it outside. He is also currently practicing his leash-walking skills and would love a family that can patiently guide him as he learns to explore the neighborhood on a lead.

The Ideal Match Canto would thrive in a home that appreciates a dog who "talks" to them and wants to be an active part of the family.
